Old game. New orbit.

Think a move ahead.
Enjoy the journey.

Solar ivory against lunar blue. Pieces rise into an arc when they move; captured pieces scatter into stardust. At checkmate, the fallen king makes one final bow.

How to play & what to expect

Enter a short name to join the waiting room. Invite an available player and wait for acceptance, or choose one of three computer difficulties. In a human match, sides are assigned randomly.

Tap a piece, then one of its highlighted destinations. Select Simple board for a flat, keyboard-accessible view: arrow keys navigate squares; Enter or Space selects; Escape clears selection. Promotion offers queen, rook, bishop or knight.

Castling, en passant, check, checkmate and stalemate are supported. Claim a draw on your turn when the current position has repeated three times or 50 moves per side have passed without a pawn move or capture. Fivefold repetition, 75 moves per side, and basic insufficient-material positions end automatically. You can also offer a draw; the computer accepts.

Drag anywhere on the 3D board with your mouse to turn and tilt it; a click still selects a piece. On touch screens, Orbit camera enables dragging; switch it off to move pieces or scroll. The simple board shows letters and numbers around its edges, following your side of the board. Space motion and move effects can be switched off independently. Reduced motion starts both off. If WebGL is unavailable, the simple board still works.

Guest names and games live temporarily on this server. Keep this tab open; refreshing can reconnect in the same tab. After two minutes without contact, the session expires and an unfinished game ends without a winner. Server restarts end guest sessions. There are no accounts, rankings, chat, saved games or game telemetry. An internet connection is needed for computer play too.
